Reproduction Prohibited 2008 is a result of a collaboration between Katrin Maria Escay and Moshe Ladanga. The installation consists of two interactive screens that transform the instances of encounters with the work.
These encounters are not merely reflections of human activity, but they are crafted real-time mirages of self. Katrin Maria Escay’s work is shot through with color, fleetingly allowing a glimpse of movement through smears of crimson, reminding viewers of the energy that flows through our bodies. Moshe Ladanga’s work is the opposite, refusing the pleasure of movement but imprinting on the screens the moments of pause, of elusive solitude. Together, the works evoke a subtle tension, creating a space of negotiation and dialogue.
